FINANCE INTERN

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Records financial project data monitor and analyses project data.
  • Executes checks and consolidates all necessary activities and checks to assure complete and correct allocation of project costs, in line with financial regulations, Kelsoko Foundation financial standards, guidelines and requirements.
  • Executes the budgeting process and periodically forecasts and supports control, monitors (audit) all financial related activities within the project
  • Regularly provides (requested and non-requested) financial reports, analysis and advice to provide insight in the overall projects financial status in order to safeguard financial performance, profitability and to estimate financial risks and take precautions.
  • Provides advice, balancing country interests, relevant regulation, corporate standards and guidelines, taking the project set-up with different regulations into account.
  • Guides the Project Manager with projects budget, project administrations and project reviews in multiple country projects.
  • Provides financial reports to meet both internal and external requirements.
  • Supports the project in being compliant to internal- and external procedures and regulations and guidelines regarding the financial administration of projects.
  • Assists in development of budgets in proposals. Guides and oversees qualification process for grants if applicable.

Qualifications

  • Financial professional, experienced in financial processes in both accounting and controlling and proven understanding of project finance.
  • Higher vocational working and thinking level with one year of experience in project finance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in finance and accounting.
  • Initiative and creativity in solving problems
  • High attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and with the team
  • High degree of initiative, flexibility, reliability, discretion, and willingness to learn
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English

PROJECT OFFICER INTERNSHIP

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Managing ongoing activities regarding projects
  • Preparing weekly, monthly and quarterly reports
  • Managing meetings with stakeholders & partners
  • Ensure effective & transparent utilization of the resources
  • Support administrative management.
  • Any other assigned duty.

Qualifications

  • Effective communication with different stakeholder and target groups, making sure ideas and essence are understood by the audiences.
  • Demonstrate ability to structure and plan activities to ensure results are met, and to adequately deal with adversity in a rational and timely manner.
  • Show passion and enthusiasm about topics of sustainable development, and is motivated to contribute to public private partnerships and support in inequality and digital transformation.
  • Good oral and written communication skills in English are an advantage as well as computer skills in MS- applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Internet, etc.)

GRAPHIC DESIGNER INTERN

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Transform text-based communications materials into visual graphic designed materials such as info graphic, brochures, backdrop;
  • Produce graphic illustrations for the different processes at the Court;
  • Develop/Design graphically appealing Website Banner, Footer, Background and Icons and source codes handed over;
  • Transform selected web articles into illustrations, icons, banners etc according to the article category, including adding relevant photos;
  • Develop/Design graphically appealing illustrations for selected web articles, reports, brochures, posters, and other communication/ visibility materials for thematic areas of work/processes;
  • Develop graphic designs/templates for web-project sites and web articles (Home, page, Contact page, articles page, etc);
  • Suggest a Typography Guidelines for Good Website Usability, colours (font, size, colour, alignment, spacing, etc); and
  • Undertake a tutorial for Court’s responsible officers on how to update some texts/graphics on the pictures/texts/sound-video dubbing, among other elements of the redesigned website.

Qualifications

  • Qualifications in Multimedia, Digital Graphics (Photoshop and Illustrator Application etc), Information and Communication Technology (problem solving and Computer Programming and Logic Design) or any related discipline;
  • Fluency in English and Kiswahili language.
  • The Graphic Designer is required to provide an up to date CV with a portfolio of previous similar work done
  • At least 1 years experience in designing visually appealing graphic banners, Footers, Backgrounds and Icons, and experience in audio/sound editing will be an added advantage;
  • Experience in using different Content Management Systems (CMS) like Word Press and broad knowledge of current web development technologies and design tools in the field, and new software and other web programming languages
  • Experience working for international or any institution will be an added advantage
  • Flexibility to adapt to any subsequent changes in the terms of reference; excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and a database of “free to use” photos

BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage and internal reporting processes, ensuring high-quality, and timely reports are submitted. Prepare and circulate templates, coordinate inputs, and review and edit in line with contractual deadlines.
  • Maintain close collaboration with all relevant departments in their preparation.
  • Ensure project activities are well-administered and implemented in compliance with the relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Ensure the adherence to Project Cycle Management (PCM) through coordinating programme design, planning, and opening, implementation, closing and learning meetings.
  • Support coordinating and facilitating Budget vs. Actual (BVA) discussions to provide grant specific compliance guidance and address challenges in grant health
  • Support the program teams to provide timely responses to requests.
  • Support program and partnership staff in grant revisions, cost extensions, no-cost extensions, budget realignments, and other amendments as require.
  • Act as a focal point for donor/partnership rules and regulations and provide support to program team on questions around compliance.
  • Identify potential compliance concerns and flag them to the team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in international relations or a related field, or relevant work experience Fluency in English and Swahili, spoken and written.
  • At least three years’ work experience in humanitarian/development setting with proven fieldbased experience with grants management and business development

  • Sound budget development capacity and financial management skills.
  • Good communicator with strong organizational, time management and analytical skills.
  • Ability to carry out responsibilities and lead tasks independently while being a strong team player for the business development team.
